University of California Merced

Modern Way Of Learning At UC Merced

The University of California, Merced, located in the state’s great San Joaquin Valley, gives its commitment to providing excellence in teaching, research, as well as public service to its students. It is the 10th campus of the world-renowned University of California system as well as the first American research university to be built in the 21st century.

Being the new kid on the block, the UC Merced now offers a range of different undergraduate and graduate programs. It is projected to grow into a 25,000 student-enrollment by the year 2030. The small community and close-knit atmosphere, as well as the newness of the facility and willingness to experiment provide a freedom that most of the other UC campuses do not offer. Being among the first students of a start-up UC campus, students are given the unique opportunity of excelling in an academic community where professors know each student by name and are personally accessible at all times, enabling the student to really develop his or her academic potential. Leadership instincts will be further developed, as students are encouraged to take part in building and founding clubs and organizations that will define the life of the university for generations to come.

The University also provides a Recreation and Wellness Center that offers intramural sports, fitness classes, and exercise facilities and services. Other recreational venues nearby such as the Yosemite National Park and other San Joaquin Valley attractions make for a colorful college life at the UC Merced.
