The Magical World of Disneyland

Of course, one of the most well known California destinations for the old and young alike is Disneyland.  Theme parks are always a good idea for tourists, but everyone loves the Disney theme parks.  A day or even two in Anaheim, California will be a bonding experience for the whole family as well as fun and entertainment on state of the art rides, interactions with everyone’s favorite Disney characters, great food in themed restaurants, and much, much more. Even if you have been to Disney World in Florida, you should still visit because Disneyland is entirely different than the other Disney theme parks and is the essence of California. Besides, young or old, what person wouldn’t want to visit Disneyland, the Disney theme park that inspired them all?  Don’t be kidded into thinking that Disneyland is just for kids; this is a park for people of all ages!  Really!

The Expansive Pacific Ocean

The ocean is a destination in itself.  The Pacific Ocean spans up the entire coast of the state of California, meaning you can choose just about any city or town, big or small and find a beautiful beach.  There are beaches that are very populated and have a variety of social activities, there are quiet beaches, and there are family oriented beaches.  If you have other places that you would like to go or visit when you visit California, perhaps you can do some research into the best beaches in that area.  The Pacific Ocean is amazing, regardless of how many times you have seen it.  If it will be your first time, you will be mesmerized by the way the blue skies meet the blue, beautiful waters of the Pacific.  A towel, some sunglasses, and some time are all you need to enjoy the Pacific Ocean.  If you want to take a dip in the water, you’ll be taken with its calming abilities and you can spend a lot of time out there doing a whole lot of nothing!  The Pacific Ocean is mesmerizing and has almost addictive qualities, so be prepared to fall in love with the sights, the sounds, and even the smells of the Ocean.

Six Flags Marine World

Six Flags Marine World was originally located in Redwood California but is now located in Vallejo California.  Though Marine World bares the Six Flags name, it is not your average every day theme park.  The park is home to some spectacular rides, shows, special events, and demonstrations, but is also home to some very unique and special animals.  The park has animals of all types, not just marine animals as the name might suggest.  Shows with the animals really offer an educational as well as entertaining aspect that families as well as people of all ages will really love.  Marine World makes Vallejo, California the perfect destination because there is something for everyone. There are roller coasters, classic amusement park rides, games, food and beverages, characters to interact with, as well as awe-inspiring glimpses at some remarkable animals that will leave a good impression on anyone that visits the park.

Hollywood

We’ve all seen Hollywood in movies and television shows, but Hollywood is larger than life and something you have got to see to believe.  You can eat at all the popular restaurants, go on guided tours through the city that will allow you to see the homes of the stars past and present, you can visit some great museums, place your hands in the hand prints of your favorite famous people, and you may even spot a few of your favorite actors, actresses, and singers.  If that isn’t enough, you can always go shopping in your stars’ favorite shops on Rodeo drive. Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, it’s a great walk for you to take to pretend that you are one of those famous people, just for an afternoon!

San Diego Zoo

If animals are your thing, you’ll definitely want to check out the San Diego Zoo.  Known to be one of the most expanse and impressive Zoos in the United States, this is a must see if you are in the area. The zoo is open almost all year long, giving you plenty of opportunity to observe some of the most interesting and impressive animals one could ever hope to see in a zoo.  If you are tired of zoos that do not provide beautiful and realistic habitats for the animals, you needn’t worry about that at the San Diego zoo.  The San Diego zoo will provide an unforgettable zoo experience, regardless of how many zoos you may have been to in the past.  When you visit this zoo it may just top all of your other experiences.

Alcatraz

Alcatraz is an island in the San Francisco Bay that has been the home of military buildings as well as a very well known prison.  The prison finally closed in the late 60s as its location made it quite expensive to operate and authorities decided it would be more advantageous to build a more modern prison. The prison is the subject of many stories of prisoners that attempted to escape and were either shot or injured in the process.  While the prison is no longer functioning as a place to house convicted criminals, it is open to tours.  The island can be reached by catching a ferry from the Fisherman’s Wharf.  The tour of the prison gives a lot of insight into what it must have been like for prisoners that were housed in such a place.

San Francisco

There is not just one thing that will attract many people to the San Francisco area.  The land and views are a major part of the popularity of the area.  San Francisco is simply beautiful.  There is great food, great shopping, many museums, and destinations for just about anything that one can think of.  There is a culture in San Francisco that is unlike anywhere else in the world because it has such a diverse mix of people. If possible, everyone that travels to California should visit the San Francisco area.

As you can see, there is a diverse selection of things to see when you visit California and this is no way a list that couldn’t be continued.  Just about any area that you visit in California will offer tourists friendly interaction, outstanding entertainment, great food and beverages, as well as spectacular views that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the world.
