Legoland : An Alternative Getaway in Los Angeles

To nearly everyone in the world, Los Angeles is a beach-saturated bliss where the gorgeous bodies of the casts of Bay Watch romp and rollerblade in butt-floss thong bikinis. It is where the biggest movie stars on earth may be glimpsed sipping mineral water in open-air cafes or driving around in snazzy cars with the top down.

With its impeccable character, Los Angeles is home to nearly 24 million tourists who come to the place every year just for their grand vacation getaway. The entertainment area of Los Angeles alone can adequately amuse everyone who will visit the place. Los Angeles has currently 300 museums and over six dozens of stage theaters.

Los Angeles has more things to offer than just wonderful beaches and spectacular movies in Hollywood. Along with its growing line of entertainment facilities are some of the world’s favorite fun center especially built for the family. Today, there are three known “family fun center” in Los Angeles, but among the three, Legoland seem to be the all-time favorite of most children, just like their old-time favorite toy - LEGO.

Legoland Information

Situated in Carlsbad, California, Legoland is nearly half an hour ride from San Diego and about an hour ride if you will be coming from the southern part of Disneyland. This goes to show that visiting the place is never a problem and the place is almost at the heart of the city.

One of the best things about Legoland is that smaller, younger children can absolutely enjoy. This is because in other theme parks like the Disneyland, most often than not, they are not yet allowed to take the bigger rides. In fact, Legoland is specially built for children who are as young as 2 years old.

Best of all, children can have full control over the rides in Legoland. This means that in Legoland, they are not just having fun, they make things more fun as they sweep along the “Explore Village,” experience what the grown-ups do in “Fun Town,” unravel the secrets of dinosaurs in “Dino Island,” and just about any activity that your kids will truly enjoy.

Contrary to what the name implies, Legoland is not just built for kids. Parents and those who are still young at heart can enjoy the breathtaking wonders of the park as well. Like its commitment to provide utmost fun to children as well as their families, LEGO reestablished its pledge by creating a new and innovative theme park built for everybody.

One of the greatest attractions in the park is the “Miniland U.S.A” where over 20 million LEGO bricks develop stunning replicas of the popular landmarks in the United States. Just by seeing these wonderful masterpieces, you simply cannot deny how beautiful America is. This part of the park is an abode to almost all of the historical spots in the U.S.

Consequently, after a day of having fun, kids can really get hungry, and the park’s dining facilities can almost feed a hungry mob of screaming children. From burgers to fries, everybody could taste of what American food is all about.

Given all that, Legoland can surely beat the summer heat in Los Angeles with more fun and excitement that the place can provide. This goes to show that Disneyland is not the only place on earth where children and parents can have real fun.

Besides, if you do not want to get squeezed just to get a ride in Disneyland, why not head for Carlsbad and enjoy the new, fresh entertainment facilities in Legoland. Since it is still relatively new, the place could be less crowded than Disneyland.

With almost 50 rides, various attractions and shows, more discounts and freebies, not to mention “free parking,” Legoland is definitely a place where you can simply enjoy and experience the real meaning of having fun.
