Directions to Hearst Castle

 

Driving from Los Angeles

Take the U.S. Highway 101 north towards San Luis Obispo, then take California Highway 1 north and it's about 39 more miles. (driving time is about 4.5 hours).

 

Coming fom the San Francisco Bay Area

Drive via the U.S. 101 heading south to California Highway 46, travel west on 46 towards the scenic California Highway 1 and heading north about 13 miles (it's about 250 miles from SF or 5 hours of driving)

 

From Monterey

Drive south on to California Highway 1 South (around 93 miles) to San Simeon Hearst Castle. Or for longer drive take Highway 68 East to Highway 101 South then Highway 46 West towards California Highway 1 North to the Castle, around 130 total miles.

Hurst Castle is usually open almost on a daily basis except New Year, Christmas and Thanksgiving day.
